OYSAN Members Vote to Adopt Registration Change

On Saturday, December 15, a Special Meeting of OYSAN members was held to vote on a significant change to the state association’s registration policy. The new policy is copied below and was adopted by a 99-54 margin. 

Change to OYSAN Registration Policy

Beginning in season 2013.2014, players competing at the Travel and Premier levels within Ohio North will register to one soccer organization. 

This policy excludes…

1. Players competing at the recreation level.
2. Players competing in high school summer leagues.
3. Players who are registered to two soccer organizations on, or before, May 1st 2013 who remain with the same two soccer organizations.

UT-Unrestricted Tournament:
A tournament that is open to all Federation Affiliated participants. Any tournament that allows International participates must be an Unrestricted Tournament.
RT-Restricted Tournament: A tournament that is open only to members of US Youth Soccer and its State Associations.

S1-generally a team which competes at the highest level of play in a state/region
S2-generally a team which competes at less than the highest level of play in state/region
S3-generally a team which competes in a local area or state
S4-a team which is put together for the sole purpose of playing in a tournament or other sanctioned non-league competition, whose roster includes select players who are members of one club.
RT-a recreational team which was formed in a random nature without regard to players’ abilities.
