Porter's tenure ends with shootout loss

Caleb Porter's tenure at Akron is over. The Zips fell to Creighton, 5-4, in a shootout after their NCAA Tournament quarterfinal ended 1-1. Akron looked to have the game won when Creighton's Jose Ribas was whistled for a handball in the box and red carded 27 seconds into overtime. But Scott Caldwell's shot was saved by Bluejays goalkeeper Jeff Gal. Porter, who had announced early in the season that he would become the Portland Timbers head coach in 2013, finished his Akron career with a seven-year record of 123-18-17. – Read the whole story

Congratulations to Toledo's John Wendt, who will compete for Region II at the US Youth Soccer ODP Inter-Regional event in Birminghham, AL. The event will be held in conjunction with the NCAA Men's Final Four.


Congratulations to Steven Milhoan (Medina, Challenger Crew Jrs) who was named to the All-Star Team for the 1999 US Youth Soccer Inter-trgional event held at Casa Grande , AZ over Thanksgiving weekend.
